GORDON SPINE ASSOCIATES HELPING THE COMMUNITY
Gordon Spine Associates is proud to sponsor the Heart Throbbers at Jones MST Academy, formerly Jones Elementary School in Tyler, Texas. The Heart Throbbers jump rope demonstration team has been together since 1991. The team is coached by the Jones Physical Education teacher, Tracy Berg and assisted by principal, Michael Berrier. All jumpers are current or former students from Jones MST Academy, or children of staff at the school.
In 1995, the Team became members of the United States Jump Rope Federation and competed for the first time. Membership in The Heart Throbbers program begins with an open Jump Rope Club offered to Jones’ students. Team members are chosen from the Club based on skill level, academic performance and conduct.
The team performs demonstrations regularly at schools, civic organizations, nursing homes, and parades and festivals, including a 2002 appearance at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, the Heart Throbbers have competed 7 times in the national tournament.
We have an ongoing challenge to other physician offices and the public to join us in supporting the Heart Throbbers.
